From 18 to 20 November, 2006, a seminar on “Business and lifestyle” took place in Ekaterinburg. It was organized by FOIL Moscow, the Slav Ontopsychology Association and the Ecobiological Centre Niotan, and was attended by more than a hundred participants, coming from Russia, Italy, Brazil, Ukraine and Latvia.

The guest-participants were welcomed by the Urals in a cold winter. The temperature was -30°C and the natural phenomenon of cold and snow is so rare that it surprised even the Russians.

Every place has a culture of its own and Niotan is a land where the spiritual order is present. Nevertheless, human beings do not always understand the value of their own land and nature, because these too enter the circuit of stereotypes.

The Italians, the Brazilians, the Latvians and the Ukrainians were not used to the Urals, and this made the perception of nature and life easier. The same was valid for the subject of the seminar – business and lifestyle – which was developed by Prof. Meneghetti according to the point of view both of the being and existence, and of business and the sense of life.

In fact, it seems that great social operators and successful entrepreneurs, in their own life, have no room for metaphysical categories. They seem to be too far from practical daily life. Often, when seeking profit, entrepreneurs miss the sense of life. After having missed the metaphysical constituent of existence, which points to the direction and the sense of life on this planet, the human being has almost no more chance of being really joyful and happy.

But what kind of lifestyle could enable leaders to live an integral existence? Antonio Meneghetti explains as it follows:

The best are never tired of evolving and moving according to their own inner criterion. Money gained is only a possibility to go further. The more a person possesses, the more the possibilities to develop. Leaders, i.e. those few people who have learned the profession of living, are characterized by healthy egoism directed to personal intellectual enrichment, to the subsequent advantage of the social context where they live and operate.

When one possesses all that one wishes, the thirst for the being is undiminished. The need for the endless game of business should aim at the understanding of oneself and of one’s own destination – by moving in this direction, one reaches a full existence, rich in peacefulness and order.

Free time should be spent for developing, improving oneself and acquiring abilities and professional knowledge. Knowing how to spend our free time correctly means taking advantage of it; otherwise, to waste it in vain means being out of the game.

The Leader’s criterion of action is the human being’s inner criterion and, in order to perform an exact action, external information is not enough. Whatever the context – business, politics or family – human beings should be centred on their own truth, i.e. corresponding to their own means and possibilities and to their own nature. If a person performs some actions that are not corresponding to his/her identity of nature, an inner conflict occurs, which – sooner or later – will find a way of appearing in the reality, even though business is momentarily good.

Here is the importance of leaders’ (business people’s) lifestyle, because it is exactly in that style that their own metaphysical part can find a way of providing the action with the right direction.

During the seminar everything seemed to be managed by an invisible conductor. The proportion of sun and morning snow, the white birches’ branches and those of the fir, rich in snow, the adamantine light, the lectures and the cinelogies, the celebration dinner – all this was built in Being’s unique music, which will always remain in the participants’ soul.
